Show Smith's Cleaners Have A New Name The forty-one year old Smith Cleaners of Centerville will become Gary's Quality Cleaners on July I. IN FEBRUARY of 1940 Dale and Bessie Smith, with $100 and one year's drycleaning experience, ex-perience, opened the first dry cleaning plant in South Davis County. They have been at their present main street location loca-tion for twenty-four years. Dale and Bessie have been known for their personal service ser-vice and interest in each customer. cus-tomer. Because of their large fol lowing of customers, the Smiths have been able to take time off each year to travel extensively. ex-tensively. They may still be seen around the plant for awhile as Gary and Holly Perkins Per-kins learn some of the techniques techni-ques that have earned the Smiths their fine reputation. GARY IS a graduate of the U of U in business management with over ten years experience in the coin laundry business. More recently he has been president of Amtrade, Inc.. a wholesale supplier of apartment apart-ment supplies. Gary's wife is the former Holly Holbrook, daughter of John and Zina Holbrook of North Centerville. Holly is a two-year graduate of Steven Henager College and is presently pre-sently a homemaker and mother of five children ages newborn to eight years. ON JULY 1st a forty-one year old tradition of dry cleaning clean-ing w ill continue under the new name of Gary's Quality Cleaners. |
