Show Stoker Now U. Thorn Kearin, director of the Davis-University of Utah Program for Higher Education announces that the program's summer school classes will be held at Stoker Elementary, 75 East, Second South in Bountiful. Boun-tiful. "PENDING THE signing of a lease," says Mr. Kearin, "we propose to house the entire Davis-University Davis-University of Utah Program for Higher Education at the Stoker School." Accommodating classes in mathematics, the sciences sci-ences and humanities as well as numerous art classes clas-ses from landscape painting to ceramics the Stoker location opens up a range of exciting possibilities for residents of Davis County. "This move will allow us to substantially expand the existing program," says Mr. Kearin, "we invite the public to help us in our assessment of their needs for both credit and noncre-dit noncre-dit offerings." PRIOR TO the June 29 opening of the school, Davis-University of Utah classes were scattered between be-tween Viewmont High School and the Bountiful Art Center. The Stoker School was built in 1905 and closed its doors to elementary school children at the end of the 1981 school year. |
