Show Arizona, Utah To iVleet In Gymnastics At l"JM Friday, Jan; 30 is the date for a dual gymnastics meet between Arizona and Utah. The competition will be held at Woods Cross High School beginning at 7 p.m. THE ARIZONA club, coached by twice national floor exercise champion Stormy Eaton, is the defending defend-ing national champion tumbling team. Utah finished second. In gymnastics, they are undefeated in competition for 1975-76. The host club, the TAGS Gymnastics Club, will enter 11 competitions at the Class III, II, and I levels (beginning, (begin-ning, intermediate and advanced). ad-vanced). MIKE Dennison, coach, says of the meet, "Gymnas tics has only one major drawback as a spectator sport, it takes a very knowledgeable fan to understand under-stand what is happening. This will be the first time in Utah that people will be able to see the best competitors at the three levels of gymnastics in one competition. We hope, in this way, to demonstrate the progressive nature of gymnastics against an excellent ex-cellent team." FOR THE TAGS Gymnastics Gymnas-tics Club entrants will include: Class III, Dana Tin-gey, Tin-gey, Teddie Endow, Michelle Nelson, Charla Newman, Kris Schlupp; Class II, Kris Kinyon, Kelli Lemon, Becki Hill; Class I, Becki Hamblin, Liisa Lowe and Carl Card. For Arizona the team will consist of: Class III, Lani Stillman, Starlene Dunn, Carol Thomas; Class II Pam Eaton, Shari Kwiatkowski, Ann Friend, Nora Levan; Class I, Kristie Rechlin, Darlene Fulton, Sherri York and Tina Tidwell. Coaches for the TAGS Gymnastics Club are Mike Dennison, Connie Buell. Rick Kley, Penny Nobriga and a new member of the staff, Jim Aamodt, who is also assistant coach at Davis High School. |
