Show IJoods Cross By RUTH S. PAYNE 295-4287 In case you hadn't time to notice, the January blahssss are over. . . and in most cases, you probably didn't have time to become affected with those post-holiday blues anyway, so onward and forward for-ward into February, the month with the bicentennial theme, and lots of activities locally as well as state and nationwide to get this 200 year celebration on the road. The annual Gold and Green Ball has been renamed for this year only, "The Bicentennial Bicen-tennial Ball". The big event for Woods Cross Stake will be held February 28 at the Stake Center. Events will begin at 8:30 and continue through 11:30 p.m. Theme for the evening is "Hats off to America" with a hat contest to be one of the special portions por-tions of the evening. Also included is music by the group Mannon, and a floor show. Dress is semiformal and an enjoyable evening is planned for all in attendance. Many from the area attended attend-ed an open house to honor the recent marriage of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Ferguson. The event was held Saturday evening at the home of Mr. ; and Mrs. Adrian Ferguson in Centerville. The Ferguson family lived in the Woods Cross area for many years before their recent move. Grandparents for the first time are President and Mrs. Glen Tonge. Happy parents are Ray and Julie Tonge Hilton. Hil-ton. Their new son was born on Wednesday at LDS Hospital Hospi-tal in Salt Lake City. The Hilton's Hil-ton's make their home in Bountiful. Also becoming grandparents grand-parents for the first time are Jim and Connie Cleverly. A son was born at LDS Hospital on Thursday to Bob and Brenda Cleverly Brisko. Don't know whether you've noticed or not, but there are lots of joggers doing their daily distance routines in the area. Winter hasn't dampened dam-pened or frozen the enthusiasm as the almost daily workouts continue. Lots ' of people are included in the jogger camp, and although some work-out by themselves, them-selves, there are duos and sometimes trios of enthusiasts at all hours of the morning and evening. People of varied occupations are included in this group; -businessmen, teachers, ' housewives, beauty operators, opera-tors, students, all with the goal of physical fitness. It's also a great way to deplete those unwanted calories. If you're tempted to join the group, be sure to have a physical check-up and work into the pace by walking the distance before the major jogging begins. Those who jog say they have never felt better, bet-ter, so the next time you see one on the road, or passing your home, give them a smile of enthusiasm. It helps on the final lap. Sorry to see the Brent Little's Lit-tle's leave the area. They have purchased a home in northeast Bountiful. Mr. Lit-tle Lit-tle is a French and Spanish teacher at Woods Cross High School. He also served on the Woods Cross City Planning Commission prior to his leaving leav-ing the area.
