Show Water Higher In The Heights Bountiful formalized some current policies on water connections, and added to their resolution a new policy which will increase the costs of developers above the 5250 ft. elevation. ABOVE THAT level, where no water system now exists, the complete reservoir must be designed and built solely by the contractor to the . specifications of Bountiful. The connection fees to the reservoirs above that level were reduced to $50 from $250. The thinking of the council was that since the developer is shouldering the entire cost of the reservoir, he should not pay as much for the connections. HOWEVER, SINCE it still costs the city to add well, pieplines, etc., the $50 fee will remain. The council also formalized some policies which have been in effect for a long time, including: developers below the 5250 ft. elevation and above the present water system sys-tem must pay one-half the cost of the reservoir and will be reimbursed partially by connection fees over the following ten years. Also, buildings will be charged a $250 connection fee for each dwelling unit within the building. |
