Show Kristine Taggert To Sing In Europe Kristine J. Taggart, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles B. Taggart, 170 North 500 East, Bountiful, has been selected to participate in the "America's Youth in Concert" Con-cert" 1976 program, sponsored spon-sored by the Universl Academy for Music, Princeton, Prince-ton, New Jersey. THE PURPOSE of the program is to demonstrate internationally the high quality and fine character of American youth, while enriching and expanding the musical and cultural horizons of the young musician. Students are selected for "America's Youth in Concert" Con-cert" after participating in a nation-wide audition. THE 1976 program promises to be an exceptional one with a Philadelphia Bicentennial Committee Invitation Invi-tation to perform on the 200th birthday of the nation's founding and then a New York City performance at Carnegie Hall prior to European tour departure. The students will concertize in London, Paris, Geneva, Innsbruck, Venice, Florence and Rome. THE "AMERICA'S Youth in Concert" 1976 program will consist of two groups; each group will have a concert choir, concert band and a symphony or chamber orchestra. The departure dates are June 29 and 30 for the month's tour. The young musicians will perform under the baton of outstanding university conductors while the chaperone staff consist largely of music educators from many different areas of the country. SOME notable performance locations in the past have been the White House and John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C., the Royal Albert Hall, London, Notre Dame Cathedral, Paris, Doge's Palace, Venice, and the Vatican in Rome. |
