Show What's Cooking? By VERDA F. WELLING SKI -090 5 This week, Mrs, Frank (Wanda) Chnstenson shares with us her recipe for Double Delight Cheese Casserole. Why the name, neither she nor I can explain, unless it is because it is a delightful tasting dish. DOUBLE DELIGHT CHEESE CASSEROLE 4 oz. uncooked noodles medium width 13 cup chopped onion 1 15 oz. can tomato sauce l2 cup cottage cheese 1 lb. ground beef 3 stalks celery chopped 1 tsp salt l2 cup sour cream COOK THE ground beef, onion and celery together in skillet. Drain off fat. Cook and drain the noodles. Add tomato sauce and salt to meat and vegetable mixture. mix-ture. Heat to boiling and reduce heat and simmer for one minute. Remove from heat and stir in cottage cheese and sour cream. Add noodles and pour into casserole. ( M rs. Christenson sprays her casserole with Pam or one of the similar products). Arrange a fresh sliced tomato on top (Optional) and bake for 30 minutes at 300 degrees. Makes 5 to 7 servings. CRISPY MACARONI AND CHEESE 1 can cream of celery or cream of mushroom soup !3 cup milk dash of pepper xi tsp. prepared mustard 3 cups cooked elbow macaroni 2 cups shredded Cheddar Cheese 1 cup French fried onions IN Vi QUART casserole, blend soup, milk, mustard, and pepper. Stir in macaroni and l1 cups of the cheese. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Top with onions and remaining cheese. Bake 10 minutes longer. Makes 4 servmas. |
