It is fl E T II C M fl F J X II just one of the senior citizen's activities I lit IllUlilll she has enjoyed since she joined. Louella Lundgren is the . kind of lady who didn't expect to get her picture in the i paper, and therefore made a perfect subject. She is at the ! same time both typical of the spirit pervading Davis County's Golden Years Center in Bountiful, and atypical, an individual with her own special style and grace. IT WAS the lure of the -Center's orchestra that first Sf drew her, and it is still one of i-fthe primary pleasures being a member of the Golden Years Center gives her. Mrs. Lundgren didi't know anyone when she saw the ad-' ad-' vertisement in the Clipper that said the Golden Years iluCenter orchestra leeded players. That was enough to Jfdraw her in, and she row has many friends and thinks other 'strangers" should come and see how easy it is to make friends. MRS. LUNDGREN is also a member of the Westminster College Orchestra, and plays luets with her daughter, :arol L. Ratcliff, at Relief lociety and DUP meetings. Iter story is a good one for all if our "if only" readers. Her xpertise and enjoyment of nusic has not always been a art of her life. m She didn't begin to play the ello until she was in her fores, for-es, when her second aughter married and there 'as both the time and the Jeed for a new interest. EVEN NOW, cello isn't the Easiest thing in the world for er. Mrs. Lundgren says the practicing helps keep her slrthritis from getting the etter of her hands. The nim-le nim-le exercises along the neck f the cello keep her fingers L lore limber than they would 1e otherwise. I J She also took up painting, j en the Center offered les-jfjons, les-jfjons, and has tried ceramics. sp MRS. LUNDGREN, for-lerly for-lerly Louella Page, has been liarried to Willard C. Lundgren for almost fifty years. Their golden wedding anniversary will be in March. They live at 1880 South 2nd West, in the home in which Louella Page Lundgren was born, and where their two daughters, ten grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren love to visit. |
