Show GSIlGFJillG The Centervllle City Council met Tuesday night in their regularly appointed city council meeting. AFTER some discussion, they voted unanimously to annex theJand north of Chase Lane, west of Main Street and east of the frontage road, near the new elementary school to the city of Centerville. This was done on the motion of Councilman Frank Hirschi and the second of Councilman Tom Randall. Councilman DeForrest Smouse called from Denver to indicate his approval of the measure. Councilman Bob Arbuckle was absent, attending the wedding of his son Alan. The property to be annexed Includes some seventy-three acres of land. AS prescribed by law, an annexation ordinance will be drawn up by Attorney Stahle and duly posted in the newspaper news-paper and in the regular places in Centerville. Police Chief Clifford Russell Rus-sell announced the fact that police Miles Simonsen is leaving the employ of the city and going to the Bountiful Police Department to work. He says that be will be able to get better pay and better benefits. It was noted that Centerville has the lowest starting base in the area. It was decided to wait for the replacement for Mr. Simon-sen Simon-sen until after the new mayor and new council take office in January 1978. LES BIERS and neighbor attended the meeting to ask for the installation of curb, gutter, and sidewalk near their property. They indicated indicat-ed that some curb gutter and sidewalk has been installed near them and said that they would like the same privilege. As the meeting came to a close, Mayor Stan Green was bid goodbye at the end of his tenure of office in Centerville. He was thanked and commended com-mended for his labors. Coun-cilmen Coun-cilmen Hirschi and Randall were similarly thanked and commended. Mr. Green, Mr. Hirschi and Mr. Randall were given their name plates at the table as their Christmas bonuses, am |
