Show Sentencing Set For January 3 Sentencing of a former Davis School District employee has been set for Jan. 3 at 10:30 a.m. in Layton City Court. DeWAYNE D. Jay, 52, of 244 West 250 South, Kaysville, has pleaded guilty to one count of illegally accepting gifts or loans when he was employed as district supervisor super-visor of buildings and grounds. Jay was allowed to plead guilty to the one charge and have two similar counts dropped following a plea-bargaining session between attorneys. at-torneys. THE defendant was arrested arrest-ed and charged with the three misdemeanor counts earlier this year after an extensive investigation by the Davis County Sheriff's Office. District Superintendent Bernell Wrigley said that Mr. Jay had not worked for the district since July when he left on sick leave and then resigned several weeks ago. grb . |
