MUIR 295-3742 Mr. and Mrs. Quinlin Adair of Bountiful and Mr. and Mrs. Reed Hint, Bountiful attended attend-ed the blessing of a granddaughter, grand-daughter, Alicia Adair, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robin Adair of Salt Lake City. After the meeting the new baby's parents served dinner at their home lo 25 guests. Those present, in addition to the grandparents, were: Mr. and Mrs. Scott Sessions, Centerville; Mr. and Mrs. Kirlley Nordfors and Miss LuAnn Adair, HeberCity; Mr. and Mrs. Quintin Adair, Jr. and children, Hyrum; Mr. and Mrs. Laine Adair and children, Helper; Mr. and Mrs. Ken l-'lint. Salt Lake City; Leonard and John Adair; Diane and Sheryl Flint of Bountiful. Forty-five members of the Davis County Medical Wives Association met Nov. 8 at the home of Mrs. Dora Trowbridge. A luncheon was served by Jeaninne Frey, Linda Schnider and Carol Pahr. Carolyn Dunn, nulri-! nulri-! lion expert Irom Smith Food King, presented a program on wise buying and holiday ideas. - Mrs. Velma Kay has recently moved to 465 West 1875 South in Bountiful. She will be missed by many of her friends and neighbors. Mrs. Thelma Snider was a dinner guest at the home of Mr. ana Mrs. Bob Florence recently. The occasion was the homecoming of their son Roger who has been employed in the pineapple fields in Lani, Hawaii. Roger returned home Nov. 10 after spending six-months working there. Family members and friends met him at the airport. There were 12 family members and friends present at the dinner. Roger enjoyed a trip to California with a family friend and he also went to New York City and Miami, Fla. He is 17 years old and attended night school while in Hawaii. Members of the Eagle Lodge of Bountiful attended a benefit dinner at the Roy Lodge on Nov. 14. The dinner was held to raise funds for the cancer drive for 1979. Guests were also present from Og-den. Og-den. The Davis County District Jr. High School Select Choir presented a concert last Wednesday Wed-nesday at the Bountiful High School. The Bountiful City Council has authorized payment of $68,922 to .Mill Creek Gardens Gar-dens for landscaping work at the city's new park adjacent to the Bountiful Golf Course. The Bountiful Davis Art Center is offering an exhibit by a father and son, LeConte Stewart and his son Maynard Dixon Stewart. The exhibit will be on display at the Art Center, 2175 South Main, Bountiful. The show is entitled "Two Generations", the works will hang side by side. LeConte's work shows his art from various periods of his life. He was born in Glejiwood, Sevier County, in 1891. He currently lives in Kaysville. His son, who was named for the famous California painter, Maynard Dixon, was born in Kaysville in 1923, he now lives in Santa Clara, Calif. The show will run until Dec. 5. The hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and the gallery is open on Sundays from 2-5 p.m. The public is invited to attend. It is interesting to compare the landscapes of the Stewarts, father and son. Mr. and Mrs. A.E. Buck-well Buck-well of Salt Lake City and Mrs. Bertha L. Muir of Bountiful were guests of Mrs. Wallace E. Hess on Nov. 6. Mrs. Hess gave them a slide showing of a recent trip she and her husband. Dr. Wallace E. Hess, had taken to the Holy Land. They were with a group of 600 people who visited the Orson Hyde Gardens in Jerusalem. The gardens were dedicated by President Spencer W. Kimball. The group flew to Athens, Greece where they boarded a luxury liner which had been chartered for the tour. The ship was their hotel for the two weeks they were on tour. They cruised the Medi-terranian Medi-terranian Sea and stopped at ports in Greece, Turkey, Israel and Egypt. There were people on the tour from many areas in Utah. The Hess' studied in advance ad-vance about the areas they were to visit. They practiced for a chorus to sing at the dedication of the gardens and were with genial people all dedicated to the same cause. They left the ship at Athens, Greece and returned to Salt Lake City on Nov. 3. They indicated in-dicated that their tour guides were kind and well informed on all of the special tours. |
