The latest bride to speak her vows under the high, vaulted ceiling of the Church of Unity is Miss Frieda Powers, who last night become Mrs. Pardee, wife of Captain Austin Myron Pardee, Twentieth infantry, TL S. A. Owing Ow-ing to the bridegroom's connection with the regular army, local society had anticipated a military wedding and there was disappointment, especially espe-cially among the younger set, that the necessity of his brother officers' being kept on duty in Texas prevented pre-vented Captain Pardee from having hav-ing them with him last night and thus giving a distinctively military atmosphere to the event. Seldom is seen a fairer bride than last night's, in her gown of white tulle, satin imperial and silver, with which she wore rose point lace, an inheritance from her grandmother. Her tulle veil was put on with an extremely high upstanding ruche of tulle at the back, caught with a circlet of orange blossoms and the soft folds of the filmy tulle fell over the long Watteau train of satin. Captain and Mrs. Pardee left by motor for a brief wedding trip, the bride going away in a tailored suit of midnight blue, with which waj worn a green aud blue feather turban. tur-ban.
