Show BLAA presents ORV proposal BLM seeks public opinion on certain types of off-road travel on the public lands on Diamond Mountain and in Brown's Park and Clay Basin areas. The public meeting will be held Thursday, Aug. 28, at 7 p.m., by the Vernal District Office. Everyone is invited. Public input is important in assessing road and ORV travel needs. Proposed actions include (1) ORV travel along the Green River will be limited to designated roads leading to. campsites; (2) Travel will be limited to main roads during April and May for watershed protection and to reduce disturbances within antelope fawning areas; (3) Certain roads and trails will be closed if they are causing soil erosion and are not needed; and (4) Travel will be limited to existing roads and trails year-round to prevent further erosion problems. Public discussion of these recom- . mendations for the Three Corners area is needed. The meeting will be at the Vernal District Office, located at 170 South 500 East in Vernal. |
