Show Tridell I Loma ITIcKee E hone47l77J Tridell bishopric re-organized The Tridell Ward bishopric was reorganized re-organized Sunday, July 27. The outgoing outgo-ing bishopric was Errol Merkley, bishop with Merlin McKee, 1st counselor, Douglas McKee, 2nd counselor and Jerry Goodrich, ward clerk. The new bishopric sustained is as follows: David Wallace, bishop, Jerry Goodrich, 1st counselor, Michael McKee, 2nd counselor, Bob Simmons as ward clerk and Aaron Simmons, assistant assis-tant ward clerk. Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Goodrich returned return-ed last week after a two-week vacation to Saskatoon, Canada where they, visited Mr. and Mrs. Gary Stringham. Jacina and Waren Wilson are home after an extended trip to the nations capitol where they visited many historical sites. They had tickets to visit congress in action. They visited the White House, Washington Monument and Lincoln Memorial, Smithsonian Institute, In-stitute, etc. They also visited New York City and went to Palmyra to the pageant and Nauvoo, 111. Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Morrill and family, Rapid City, S.D., spent the weekend at the homes of Rondal and Merlin McKee. The Morrills with their twelve children were featured August 9, ' on the TV show 'That's My Line' with Bob Barker. Mr. and Mrs. Morrill were featured on the show because they had adopted seven Indian children from the same familv. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Willis, and Jan and Marc Buckwalter, Las Vegas, Nev., are visiting at the DeVon McKee home. Randy Goodrich who has been attending atten-ding Ricks College has returned to his home in Tridell. Isola Haslem and Margaret and Peggy Ahlborn attended the World Conference Con-ference on Records at the Salt Palace in Salt Lake City last week. Esther Merkley has been caring for the children of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Trujillo the past week while their parents have been on vacation. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Kitchen spent the weekend in American Fork. Paul's brother, Newell reported his mission to the California, Anaheim mission. Sunday. Sun-day. Esther Harvey was honored on her 80th birthday at a lamily gathering at the Bill lloopes home in Neula on August 6. Esther was born in Junction. l'lah in l'joo Her mother passed away when she was two. Her lather remarried a tew years later and the lamily was living in Roosevelt in 1920 when she and W K. Harvey, Tridell were married. They have been living in Tridell since thai time. She is the mother ol seven children, lour ol whom are still living. Morlan. Pocalello. Idaho; Mrs. Bill i Vernal lloopes. Neola; Mrs. Bill il'von) Workman. Vernal, and Mrs Lee i Flora ) Fit.hugh. Davis. Calil.. Mr. and Mrs. Merlin McKee and lamily have moved into their new home. Hal McKee went to Sail Lake City. Monday w here he had surgery performed perform-ed on his knee. He was accompanied by his w ile, LeAnn. Ivan G. Ross was honored on his Both birthday, Saturday. Aug. 9, at the Tridell Ward grounds by his family and friends. Seventy-eight Iriends and relatives attended the open house lor him. Activities included dinner, program pro-gram and visiting. Those from out ol the Basin attending were: Mr. and Mrs. DeVere Ross, Viola Peterson, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Price, V'enna Mansfield, and Verna Hae West, Salt Lake City; Sylvan Ross, Orem; Mr. and Mrs. Jim Dehor and children, Arbetta and Shirley Wilcken, Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Wilcken and children, Glendale, Ariz.; Wayne and Leslie Jenkins, Beulah Beveridge, Sandy Beveridge, Don Caldwell and Sharon Baynes, Denver, Colo. Melvin Kitchen and sons Lynn and Kevin, American Fork, visited with Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Kitchen last week. The Kitchens also went to the mountain fishing for a few days while here. Mi', and Mrs. Enes Hatch have moved mov-ed a mobile home onto the Kitchen lot where they will help care for Mr. and Mrs. J.L. Kitchen. Mr. and Mrs. Von Simper, Grand-view, Grand-view, Idaho, have been recent visitors at the Davis Morrill Home. The McKee reunion was held Saturday, Satur-day, Aug. 9, at the new Roosevelt City Park. A potluck dinner was enjoyed by the group. A volleyball game and races were enjoyed by the youth. Mr. and Mrs. Gaylon McKee and children and Reed McKee, Vanderhoof, Canada and Mr. and Mrs. Francis Bowden and children. El Paso, Texas attended the McKee family reunion and enjoyed visiting at the homes of Mr. and Mrs. David Wallace, Mr. and Mrs. Lennis McKee and at the home of Thelma McKee. Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Goodrich, Bountiful were visitors in Tridell this week. Lorene Siddoway and children, Brogan, Oregon and Merle McKee' Cambrmge, Idaho were in Tridell last week to attend the Loren McKee family reunion ami the William McKee lamily reunion. Mr. and Mrs. Norman McKee and children. Panguitch, l'lah and Mrs. MeKce's mother from Mesa, Ariz., were visitors Saturday and Sunday at the Vida McKee home. Newell McKee, Phoenix, Ariz., Mr. and Mrs. Alan Row ley and children and Margene Cook and children. Mesa, Ariz., visited last week at the DeVon McKee home. Mrs. Bob Goodrich, Feltcher, Edna. Lynda and Colleen went to Glcnrock, Wyo., last week to visit Mrs. Goodrich's family. Ronnie Goodrich accompanied his father, Bob to Monahand, Texas last week. Viola, Thelma and Lorna McKee returned last week from a seventeen day lour back east. They enjoyed visiting the following places, Independence, In-dependence, Gettysburg, Washington, DC, New York' City. Philadelphia, Palmyra, where they attended the pageant, Niagara Falls, Kirtland. Ohio, Winter CJuartors, Nebraska and many other historical sites. Beverly Simmons, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Farrell Simmons and Rennio Scholes, son of Mr. and Mrs. Rae C. Scholes, Roosevelt were married in Ihe Provo Temple, Aug. 15. Those accompanying accom-panying Ihem to Provo were: Mr. and Mrs. Farrell Simmons, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Simmons and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Perry. The couple was hosted to a breakfast following (he ceremony at Ihe Chuck a Rama in Provo. The couple were honored al a reception the following night in Ihe Tridcll Ward cultural hall. The Scholes will make their home in Roosevelt . Family members coming to attend the wedding reception were: Mr. and Mrs. Richard Simmons and Mr. and Mrs. Jay Harvey, Clearfield; Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Harvey, Laylon; Mr. and Mrs. Roland Larsen, Kearns; and Elsie Simmons. |
