Educated ; me mst valuable resource we possess. The bottom line of our entire society is wrapped up in the type of an education a person is willing to seek and make the required sacrifices to obtain. It takes personal drive, lots of money and the incentive to continue the educational process. The money end of our educational system seems always to be in the forefront. But how can a value be placed on a good education? Some would give all the money in the world if they could acquire a good solid education. The value of a good education is unchallenged. As the costs rise we must not lose sight of the responsibility we have as citizens, taxpayers, businesspeople and even retired people , of doing all we can to give our young people the best education opportunities possible. On Sept. 9, the eligible voters in Uintah 'County will be given the opportunity op-portunity to vote on a bonding issue that will improve the educational facilities in Uintah School District. A vote for this bond issue will not raise taxes. The taxes are already being assessed at a rate high enough to pay the cost of the proposed building program over a 20 year span. An affirmative vote only authorizes the school district to go in debt so the facilities can be built now rather than wait until the money can be raised. The only extra expense will be the interest charged on the bonds and it is figured that the rate of inflation will cost more than the interest would cost if we wait. In the interest of providing the best possible educational opportunity for our youth, we hope the local citizens will vote in favor of the bond issue. Even though returning back to school after a summer's vacation seems like an expensive and hard thing to do, it is the right thing to do. So, likewise, is providing the adequate facilities for our educational system. Our public educational system does not come cheap. If it did, it would be just that, cheap. Money wisely spent on our educational system is probably the best investment we can ever make. It will determine the future stature of our society. |
