Show California Missionaries Furnish Fur-nish Splendid Meeting The out door meeting given Sun-, Sun-, evening July 7, at the New City grounds by returned California Ljonaries Proved to be very in-I in-I esting as well as largely attended. The group consisted mainly of those -lo labored with President S. L. ' chjpman while in the sunny state. The outstanding feature of the meeting yas the appeal it made to the large Idience, and the manner in which ' t was effected. The services were 1 t)ie f0rm of a regular street meet-lBS meet-lBS similar to those in the mission fieUs, and it was surprising, the wonderful talent displayed by the missionaries participating. President Chipman was in charge. The congregation together with the missionaries sang as an opening jelection "Now Let Us Rejoice" after which E. B. Hawkins offered the vocation. The next song was "We Thank Thee 0 God For a Prophet." The program given was as follows: Piano duet, "A Perfect Day", Eva Gunther and Nina Halliday; talk "The Book of Mormon", President A. Carlos Schow of Lehi Stake; vocal duet "An Angel From On High", Maurine Gamett of Pleasant Grove and Mrs. LaRue R. Morton of Salt Lake City; talk "Articles of Faith," Klier Don Whimtpey of Lehi; vocal solo "Sweet Hour of Prayer", Elder Norman B. Wing; closing remarks. Mrs. LaRue Morton; song "Let U3 A)l Press On", missionary group; prayer, Delbert Fugal of Pleasant Grove. Previous to the meeting Miss Nina Halliday entertained at luncheon for the following missionaries : Presi- j dent and Mrs. S. L. Chipman, President Presi-dent and Mrs. Carlos Schow, Mr. and Mrs. E. B. Hawkins, Mr. and Mrs. Celbert Fugal, Miss Maurine Gamett, Miss Eva Gunther, Miss GueMa Els-more, Els-more, Mrs. LaRue R. Morton, Don Whinrpey, Royal Carter, Norman B. ' Wing and Everett Devey. Miss Alice Nelson of Provo and Russell Swen-Bon Swen-Bon of Pleasant Grove were invited guests. |
