Show Annual Fanners Encampment Encamp-ment At Logan LOGAN For the purpose of acquainting ac-quainting the farmers of the state of Utah with the latest methods discovered dis-covered and developed in their field of endeavor by the outstanding authorities, an encampment is held at the Utah State Agricultural College Col-lege each summer. This year the short course will be held July 15-16-17-18. A program designed especially for the needs of Utah has been prepared by a competent staff and those in charge feel that no farmer or farmer's farm-er's wife can afford to miss the ninth annual encampment. As dairying is to be emphasized in the program America's most eminent dairyman has been secured to give special work in that phase of agriculture. agri-culture. He is none other than O. E. Reed, Chief of the Bureau of Dairying, Dairy-ing, Washington, D. C, J. B. Fitch, of the Kansas State Agricultural College, and an eminent dairy authority autho-rity will conduct class work and give special lectures on improved dairy methods. In the crop department, to be conducted con-ducted by Prof. J. C. Hogenson, the following topics will be discussed: State crop program; hay crops, farm pastures, Prof. Hogenson will give a practical demonstration on smut control con-trol in wheat, oats, and barley; also a demonstration of the prevention of external diseases in potatoes. Also in this section, Director William Peterson and Mr. Delmar Tingey will discuss the weed problems of the state. As the encampment program contains con-tains something for every member of the family, the women and children child-ren will be royally cared for while the fathers and husbands are receiving re-ceiving their instructions.
