Mr. and Mrs. Walter Strange en joyed a fishing trip in Strawberry during the week-end. Mr. and Mr?. Guy McKinley Snyder Snyd-er and three children and Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Winn of Salt Lake City, were Sunday visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. E. P. EvanB. Mrs. MIna Shatter, Mrs. C. A Grant and Miss Littlie Shaffer were among those from this city who saw "Coquette" at the Paramount Theatre in Provo Tuesday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Glen L. Taylor and family and Mr. and Mrs. G. A. Anderson Ander-son and family, are leaving this evening even-ing for Provo canyon, where they will enjoy a week's vacation trip. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Singleton and Mr. and Mrs. Dell Singleton attended at-tended "Coquette" at the Paramount Theatre in Provo Thursday evening. Mrs. Leo King and children, Margaret Mar-garet and Buddy, of Wells, Nevada, were guests at the Dell Singleton home over the week-end. Miss Reba Southerland of Eureka, is a guest at the home of her brother and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Southerland, South-erland, for the summer months. M'r. and Mrs. W. D. Stewart and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Chipman attended attend-ed a dinner given in Salt Lake City Sunday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Lloyd in honor of S. D. Chipman, the occasion being his birthday. Mrs. Ada Baker and family in company with Mr. and Mrs. William Patterson antl children of Salt, Lake City, returned home Saturday evening even-ing from a three day fishing trip at Strawberry lake. Mr. and Mrs.. J. L. Mower and Mr. arid Mrs. Dell Singleton motored to Provo last Friday evening, where they attended "The Rainbow Man" at the Paramount Theatre. Mr. an'd Mrs. Dell Singleton and Mr. and Mrs. Nate Robinson left Friday morning for a several weeks trip through the northwest, which includes in-cludes Washington, Oregon, Canada and British Columbia. Mrs. Lillian K. Brown entertained at dinner Thursday evening in compliment com-pliment to Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Dunkley and son, VJimmie, and Mrs. Henry Bork, who are here from Maywood, California, visiting relatives. Covers were laid for twelve guests. The Ladies Literary Association were entertained Thursday afternoon at Geneva resort by Mrs. Byron Crookston and Mrs. Martin Nielsen. Early in the evening the ladies were joined by their husbands who enjoy ed with them the delicious luncheon prepared and served by the hostesses. Mr. and Mrs. Foster Merrill are proud parents of a winsome baby daughter born Friday morning at their home in San Francisco, California. Cali-fornia. The new baby's grandmother, Mrs. Grace Coates, and daughter, Marianf, are leaving this morning to visit indefinitely with the happy family. Mrs. T. A. Greenwood and Mrs. W. R. Greenwood entertained last Friday Fri-day evening at a miscellaneous shower show-er in compliment to Mrs. David L. Bryant of Salt .Lake City, formerly Miss Thelma Huggard, whose marriage mar-riage took place In late June. Music and games were the entertaining features, fea-tures, followed by a dainty lunch. There were thirty present. Mrs. Arnold Peterson of Price, is visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alex Christensen, indefinitely. Mrs. C. L. Jensen and daughter of Kingston, spent the week at the John Jacklin home. Mrs. Morris Davies visited with her sister, Mrs. Andy Trane, in Lehi Tuesday. Mrs. John T. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Mendenhall and family are enjoying a two weeks visit with friends an'd relatives in Springville, Vernal and points south. Mr. Mendenhall is enjoying his vaca-tion vaca-tion from the J. C. Penney Co. David Ingersoll and his grandson, Homer Ingersoll, arrived home Monday Mon-day from Spokane, Washington, where they have spent the past three weeks visiting Mr. Ingersoll's daught er and husband, Dr. and Mrs. Clyde Countryman. M'r. and Mrs. Leslie Burgess and , family spent. Monday and Tuesday visiting Mrs. Jennie Cunningham and family enroute to their home in California from Idaho, where they have been visiting relatives. . Mrs. Burgess was formerly Miss Edith Mc Bride, Mrs. Cunningham's niece. The local "Alpha" 4-H Club was represented by the following girls at the big outing of all the Utah Co. 4-H clubs held Wednesday afternoon at Kellys' Grove in Spanish Fork canyon: Alice Jacklin, Edith Jacklin, Jack-lin, Dorothy Grant, Helen Parker, Mildred Green, Ruth Giddings, Helen Young, Merline Gardner and Iris Garff, the latter being an invited guest. Outdoor games, program and stunts were the day's diversions. |
