Thorne has been visiting the past two weeks with relatives rel-atives in California. Mr. and Mrs. R. D. McKell of Pay-son, Pay-son, were guests of Mr. and Mrs. James D. Thorne Sunday. H. TV. Jacobs left Saturday for an indefinite stay at Twin Palls, Idaho, to superintend the cold packing of cherries at his plant there. Mrs. Regina Thorne left Sunday for an indefinite visit with her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Leo R. Walker, of Garland. Mr. and Mrs. Marlon Adamson, Thomas Adamson and Mr. and Mrs. Josiah Kemp left Wednesday morning morn-ing for a trip through Yellowstone Park. Mr. and Mrs. Rulon Nicholes entertained en-tertained at dinner Tuesday evening in compliment to Mr. and Mrs. Ray D. Nicholes, who have been teaching school in Arizona, and are here attending at-tending summer school at the Brig-ham Brig-ham Young University. The table was centered with a colored bowl of sweet peas. Covers were laid for fifteen guests. The Misses Clarice Bromley, Beth Hutchings, Violet Preston and Faye Parker are entertaining next Tuesday Tues-day evening at the Parker home complimentary to Mrs. Floyd Love-ridge, Love-ridge, formerly Miss Eileen Gorden, whose marriage took place last week. The social will be in the form of a miscellaneous shower, invitations having been extended to thirty guests. The visit in this city of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Dunkley and son, Jimmie, and Mrs. Henry Bork of Maywood, California, has been the motif for a number of outings, dinners and other social entertainments given in their honor by relatives. The group spent Wednesday in American Fork canyon where they went through Timpano-gos Timpano-gos Cave and visite'd other beauty spots; Thursday, a motor trip was made to Bingham Canyon, where they visited the Copper Mines; and Friday, they left for Salt Lake City to spend several days visiting relatives, rela-tives, nearby resorts and other places of interest. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Ellison and family fam-ily were guests at the home of Mrs. G. M. Farrer in Provo Sunday. Miss Violet Birk spent the weekend week-end in Salt Lake City, guest of her friend, Miss Katherine Karren. Mr. and Mrs. Asael Boulter of Bingham accompanied by Mrs. Inez Olpin and daughters, May and Donna, of Pleasant Grove, left Monday morning, morn-ing, by auto, for a trip to the northwest. north-west. Miss Verda Nelson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hilmer Nelson, underwent an operation for appendicitis at the Lehl hospital Wednesday. Last reports re-ports she was improving nicely. The Misses Helen and Elizabeth Swenson attended a social Monday evening at Provona Beach, given by the Val Norn Social unit of the B. Y. U. Roland Sabey, who is employed in McGill, Nevada, returned Montiay, after a month's visit with friends and relatives in Lehi and American Fork. Miss Ruby Steele accompanied him to Salt Iake City, where .she remained re-mained for a short visit.
