Show 5 Kiwanians Honor s Seven Year Charter Members Charter members of the Klwa-nis Klwa-nis Club of Cedar City were honored hon-ored Monday evening at the annual an-nual meeting of the club held at El Escalante Hotel. The meeting meet-ing was held exactly on the sev-enth sev-enth anniversary of the club. A highlight of the evening was the presentation of two seven, yeir perfect attendance pins to Therol McArthur and Dick Mor. rls. Both have served as presidents presi-dents of the organization. Burns Sherratt, president of the club, turned the gavel over to Robert Heyborne to conduct the program for the evening. Heyborne was the first president presi-dent of the cluz and is now serving serv-ing in the capacity of lieutenant governor of the Utah-Idaho district. dis-trict. Because of storm a delegation from the Nephi club was unable to attend the mepting. and LeRoy Olsen of Provo, Lt. governor at the time the Cedar City club was formed, was4 also unable to attend at-tend as guest speaker. Heyborne addressed the group of Kiwanians and their wives on the subject of "Integrity," a part of the 1957 International theme. Musical prtiirtalnmtfnt i7!" furnished by the "Four Keys," high school male quartet com-posed com-posed of Neil Petty, Reed Hey-wood, Hey-wood, Raymond Munford and Travis Nelson. Gene Helland, dl-rector dl-rector of music at the high school, gave two clarinet solos and Miss Helen Hatch rendered a piano solo in addition to accompanying ac-companying the other musical selections. Elwyn Halterman, chairman of the club's attendance and membership mem-bership committee also present-ed present-ed perfect attendance pins to the following: Rex Harris, four year pin; Walt Hansink, three year i pin; Claude Dlx, two year pin, and Haymer Morris, one year pin. During the evening delegates to the International convention to be held at Atlantic City, N. J. were elected. Serving as delegates dele-gates will be Heyborne and Sher. ratt with Dixie Leavitt and Rex Harris named as alternates. Table decorations were under the direction of the Kiwanl-Anns. |
