Show Planning and Zoning Committee Makes Recommendations At the meeting of the Parowan City Council Monday eyening a proposal to inaugurate a zoning program was presented to the council by members of the recently re-cently named planning and zon-lng zon-lng committee. Members of the committee present at the meeting meet-ing to present the program to the council were John H. Pendleton Pen-dleton an''. Morris Rasmussen. lejrgia B. Mitchell Is the third member of the committee. The committee proposed to Incorporate In-corporate In an area called Zone I, that portion of the city lying between 100 East and 100 West streets and running, from the north city limits to the south city limits. Included in the proposed zoning zon-ing regulations would be rules governing the keeping of animals ani-mals within the area, specify the types of building construction, construc-tion, the spacing of such buildings, build-ings, etc., as well as setting up fire protection regulations in building and maintaining property prop-erty in the area. It would also provide service alleys running north and south to the rear of the business houses hous-es on Main Street for deliveries of commodities and to provide for fire and police protection. The council voiced its approval of t?e program and made provisions pro-visions for the cooperation of the city and planning committee with the city attorney to be called call-ed in to provide legal advice in drawing up an ordinance to put the proposed zoning law into effect. |
