Show Parry Bid Accepted For Canyon Pipe Line Installation The bid of Chester Parry for laying a new pipe pile for the city culinary water supply from Right Hand Canyon was accepted accept-ed by the City Council at its regular reg-ular meeting Thursday evening end the contractor was Instructed Instruct-ed to proceed as soon as possible with the Job. The Parry bid was for $5,062 and five other bids ranged up to $18,000. In addition to Parry and his associates, bids were submitted sub-mitted by Roe Thorley, Wm. Smith. Joseph Smith, Cedar City; King Company, Hurricane and Los Angeles, and Greer Company of Provo. Pipe for the new line had already al-ready boon purchased through bids submitted some time ago, and the pipe has been delivered ready for installation under the current contract. The projet will ,be rushed to completion as rapidly ra-pidly as possible, Mayor Arnold Anderson reports. Mayor Anderson also reported that an agreement was reached between the city and the Cedar City Golf Association for use of water from the sewer system overflow for irrigating a golf course to be built at the municipal muni-cipal airport, and also for the use of the land for this purpo.se. The city and association are now In complete agreement on the project and only minor details in a lease agreement need to be worked out before the project pro-ject can be started. It is understood under-stood that the agreement will be ready for signing at the next meeting of the council. A filter system will be Installed Install-ed at the disposal plant to purify puri-fy the water before It Is used on the golf course. In addition to the use of land in the southeast section of the airport enclosure, it Is understood under-stood that locker and shower rooms and office space in the buildings at the airport will be made available to the association associa-tion The Mayor was authorized at the council meeting to seal-coat and chip the parking lot and ilrluau.ii! t th haaohall flplrl east of' the city.
