Show Ranger Appointment Made to Fill Cedar City Position Announcement of the transfer and promotion of Wayne J. Clow-ard, Clow-ard, district forest ranger on the Hornet Ranger District, Payette National Forest at Council, Idaho, Ida-ho, to Cedar City to fill the position po-sition on the supervisor's staff made vacant by the retirement of Leland D. Heywood was made by Albert Albertson, supervisor of the Dixie National Forest to-day. to-day. Cloward is a native of Monroe, where he spent his early life. He attended the University of Utah and Utah State University at Logan, Lo-gan, and received a degree from the school of forestry, range and wildlife management at the latter lat-ter school In 1948. He served In the U. S. Army from Jan. 6, 1914 to Jan. 5, 1946. Cloward comes to the Dixie National Forest well equipped In both training and experience to fill his new assignment, the supervisor said. He Is married and he and his wife, who is the former Arva Southam of Monroe, have a family of four children. The oldest son Is In second year high school, another son Is in junior high school, and a boy and girl are in 141 ade school Cloward will report for duty at the forest office in Cedar City about May 6. It is understood that his family will remain in Council until school is out sometime some-time early In June. |
