Snow College Defeated by CSU Broncos, 7-1 Snow College of Ephraim were( victims of the College of South- ern Utah Broncos last Thursday afternoon on the local baseball diamond as the Broncos bounced back from an opening game loss to Dixie to defeat the Badgers 7 to 1. The Broncos pushed over runs in the first Inning to take the, lead and they were never threat-, ened during the nine inning stint. . Today, Thursday, and Friday the Broncos will meet the Carbon i Eagues in a dual series to nearly' wrap up the southern division conference slate. Games will be1 played on the Cedar baseball, park and both are afternoon' events. Following this this week's ser-1 les of games the Broncos will h.ive a single remaining game on the league slate. That will be a return game with the Rebels Reb-els of Dixie. Coach Cleo Petty indicated that the unusual schedule of this season was adopted to eliminate expenses in the sport on an "already "al-ready dwindling budget for the athletic department." Dixie and CSU play a home and home series and It is the only road trip for each of these two teams. CSU defeated Snow last week in the only meeting of .the two teams. Snow moved to Dixie for a double header. This week CSU meets Carbon twice J and Dixie and the Eagles meet only once. This will also complete com-plete the series against the Carbon Car-bon County rivals. |
