Show New Prices Announced On Alfalfa Hay Bv OPA Effective Julv 3 j . New prices on alfalfa hay, effective effect-ive July 3, were announced by Tillie Winsor, community service member of the St. George war price and rationing board. "In an effort to curb the mounting mount-ing prices of alfalfa hay, a nationwide nation-wide maximum price has been set," the member said. "Utah, which comes under Area Two, will have a set price of $20.50 per ton from now through October 1944. The new regulations set specific dollar-and-cent ceiling prices at all levels from grower through retail dealer. For certified certi-fied U. S. No. 2 leafy alfalfa, $2 a ton may be added to the price set. For U. S. Extra Leafy, $5 a ton may be added." The maximum price per ton for a sale or delivery by a dealer or a retailer shall be determined by adding his transportation cost, and the appropriate mark-up would be $6 a ton where unloaded into the retailer's warehouse or store not located on the farm; $1.50 per ton where the retailer is also the producer, or $3 a ton in all other cases. Dealers who sell a lot of the hay delivered elsewhere than on the farm where grown may add $4 a ton if warehoused ware-housed by dealer and resold in less than carload lots to any person other than feeder. Two dollars a ton may be added in all other cases. Further information may be had from your county agent or local war price and rationing ra-tioning board. |
