Show ENTERPRISE Mrs. Theresa Huntsman Reporter Pvt. Stanley Atoms 5s home for a short furlough. Bishop and Mrs. Arthur Bar-locker Bar-locker went to Delta Sunday to get their mother, Mrs. Bertha Barlocker, who has spent several i months there with her daughter, Mrs. Katie Peterson. The Enterprise Relief Society held an out-door social Friday evening commemorating the 100th anniversary of the martydom of the Prophet Joseph Smith and his brother Hyrum. Provided with box lunches the crowd assembled at the grand stand on the public square at 9 a. m. An excellent program was presented. The stage was equipped with three loud speakers from which announcers an-nouncers presented the variety of numbers. Games, community singing sing-ing and refreshments followed. Spending the Fourth of July in Enterprise were: Mrs. Alice K. Lund, of St. George; Mrs. Desmond Des-mond Hall, Mr. and Mrs. Deward Hall of Pioche; Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Knell and Mr. and Mrs. Lon Christensen of Newcastle; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Randall of Crestline; Mr. and Mrs. David Hardy of Milford; and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Day of Cedar City. Mrs. Rocca O'Neil and three children are here from California to spend the summer with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Z. Alger. July Fourth Program July Fourth was celebrated on Tuesday in the usual good way. A military salute, raising of the flag at sunrise, serenading by the string band and a short public program filled in the forenoon. During the afternoon there were races, competitive games, calf riding, rid-ing, a ball game between the married and single men, followed by a dance at T p.m., for the children, and one later for the adults. The committee for the occasion included: Grant Clove, William J. Truman, Belle Holt and Gertrude Lund. Miss Eleanor Hiatt was Goddess of Liberty for the dav. |
