Show Patrolman and Mrs. L. A. Porter returned late last Thursday night from Salt Lake City where they attended the convention of State Peace officers. They report having had a very profitable conference as well as a good visit with Lieut. Marion Snow and wife and other former Dixieites. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Pulsipher Pulsi-pher -of Las Vegas and their sister, sis-ter, Mrs. George Black of Henderson, Hender-son, spent July 6th in St. George visiting their parents, Mr. and Mrs. David Lemmon and family, -fc -Sfc ! Mrs. James Chadburn who was visiting with her children in Las Vegas was called home Friday due to the death of her son, Jim Lloyd Chadburn. K Mrs. Charlotte V. Atkin left Friday evening for Glendale, Utah where she plans to spend the summer with relatives. Mrs. A. W. Gregerson and daughter, Ver Don, left Monday for Salt Lake City where they will spend a month visiting her children, Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Oyler and two daughters, and Miss Dorothy Gregerson and her brother, Frank Sylvester and family. Mrs. Alma Cottam and two small sons, Stephen and Bruce, arrived Sunday from Salt Lake City, accompanied by her sister, Mrs. Horace Sorenson. The two women went on to California Sunday evening, leaving the two boys with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Cottam. Captain Alma Cottam is in England, a surgeon with the U. S. Army Air forces. Mrs. William (Bill) Swapp left early Saturday morning for Shep-pard Shep-pard Field, Texas, where she will spend the next few weeks with her husband who is stationed there, in training with the Army Air forces. Kenneth Hirschi arrived Friday from Salt Lake City to attend the funeral services for his son, Verl Kenneth- Hirschi, who died early Friday morning. & Mr. and Mrs. David O. Woodbury Wood-bury returned last week from spending three weeks in the vicinity vici-nity of Ogden on business. Their son, Merrill, accompanied them. Bp. and Mrs. Byron Taylor and family who recently sold their home to people from Price, Utah, moved last week into the home of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. O. S. Taylor who are absent on a two-year L. D. S. mission. Mr. and Mrs. O. B. Fry visited with friends in St. George Monday, Mon-day, having come down on a rush trip from their new location at Whiterock, Utah, to get some of their belongings. Miss Erma Bentley returned Sunday from spending the week in Pine Valley where she was a guest of Miss Roma Snow. Miss Becky Hammer left Saturday Satur-day for Pine Ranch, Ariz., to visit with Mr. and Mrs. Reed Sorenson Soren-son and family. -V. J' W -AC Henry Ferguson of Mt. Trumbull Trum-bull was a business visitor in St. George Wednesday. Mrs. Fenton Mecham and three children. Van, Von and Jimmie of Salt Lake City, spent last week in St. George visiting friends and transacting business. Walter Kent was a St. George visitor Wednesday from Tuweep, Ariz. - Miss Mary Jean Sorenson returned re-turned last Thursday from spending spend-ing seven weeks with relatives in Pine Ranch, Ariz. Verl Aldredge underwent surgery surg-ery at the local hospital June 28. Mrs. Wayne Whitehead returned re-turned last week from Denver where she has been visiting with her husband, who was training there with the medical division of the Army air corps. He is being transferred to another location. Miss Margene Barton entertained enter-tained a large group of friends at a party at her home Wednesday afternoon. |
