Show Charles August Angell Dies At Hurricane June 28th from Asthma HURRICANE, Utah. Death came June 28th to Charles August Angell, An-gell, 79, after a lingering illness from asthma. Born in Salt Lake City, Jan. 29, 1865, he came to southern Utah when he was a baby, making mak-ing their home in Orderville. Later they moved to Toquerville, and then to Leeds, where much of his early life was spent, working in Silver Reef mines, farming and cattle raising. In 1889 he married Emma Frances Hartley. Moved to Hurricane In 1908 In 1908 Mr. Angell moved with his family to help settle the town of Hurricane and assisted with building many of the early homes there, later settling down to farming. farm-ing. Surviving besides his widow are five daughters: Mrs. Jesse J4pson, Las Vegas; Mrs. George Stevens, Mrs. George Isom, Mrs. DeLon Bradshaw and Mrs. Charles Strat-ton, Strat-ton, all of Hurricane; two sisters, Mrs. Vinnie Fuller of Leeds; Mrs. Phebe McMullin of Idaho; 32 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Friday, Fri-day, June 30, in the Hurricane North ward chapel, with Lafe Staheli, counselor in the bishopric, conducting the program. Music numbers included a duet, "Just A'Wearin' for You", Irene Brooks and Norene Yegley; solo, "I Have Read of A Beautiful Citv". bv Frank Barber, accom panied by Mrs. Carol Heaton; instrumental in-strumental duet, "In the Garden", by Charlene Tweedie and Carol Burgener; male quartet, "I Know That My Redeemer Lives", Jesse Jepson, Lafe Staheli, Grant Woodbury Wood-bury and Webb Barber. Wayne Hinton Speaks Wayne Hinton of the high council told of his long association with Mr. Angell, of his patience in suffering, his kindness to others and his thoroughness in all he did. Prayers were by Fenton Whitney Whit-ney and Joseph Hinton. Burial was in the Hurricane city cemetery. |
