Show CEDAR CITY SOCIAL SWING By Virginia Webster EN AVANTE CLUB Thirteen members of the En Avante Club attended a get-together at the home of Mrs. Alice Braithwaite late in March. The program featured a book review presented by Genevieve Gardner, Sterling North's story, "Rachel." Guests of Dr. and Mrs. Lewis Harding have been their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Hurley Hansen and their daughter daugh-ter Nicole of Salt Lake City. The Hansens arrived in Cedar City prior to the Easter holiday and Mrs. Hansen and daughter extended ex-tended their visit to April 5th. Pinochle games were on the agenda at the home of Marian Rosenberg last Friday evening. Mrs. Rosenberg awarded score prizes to her guests Jean Robb, Wana Hoyle, Donna Reid and Wanda Dockstader. V'siting in Salt Lake City with Mr. and Mrs. Rulon Heyborne is Mrs. Arvilla Marsden. Mrs. Mars- I den traveled to northern Utah with her son-in-law and daughter, daugh-ter, Dr. ard Mrs. Kendall Jonos 1 Traveling to Brigham City. Utah last week were Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Webster. During their brief vacation the VVebsters were the guests of the son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. J. N. Webster. Hostess to the members of her pinochle club and one special guest, Jerri Newby of Mesa, Arizona, Ari-zona, this week was Vanda Dennett. Den-nett. Prizes were won by Bertha Smith and Jerri Newby. Janette Berrett presented a hostess prize to Mrs. Dennett. Visiting briefly at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Reese were Mrs. Reese's brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Peterson Pet-erson of Moscow, Idaho. t Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Matheson of Cedar City spent a portion of their week end In St. George as guests of the Sheldon Prestwich family. Entertaining members of her club last wek was Maude Strate. In addition to club members three special quests, Virginia Randall, Alice Hickman and Ruth Seegmiller, were present. Mr. and Mrs. Keith Jones went to Salt Lake City last week for a two-day trip. Mrs. Jones was in attendance at the Primary Con-cerence Con-cerence meetings. Mr. and Mrs. Henry P. Dotson were in attendance at the LDS conference sessions in Salt Like City last week. Duri.'.g their stay they enjoyed visiting with their son-in-law and daughter. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Campbell in Provo. Mrs. Campbell (Gloria) and her son Jeffrey returned to Cedar City with her parents. They plan to be here for two weeks. |
