Show Mrs. Fern Amend To Review Book At CSU Library Tea Fem Amend will review the historical novel "Charles" by Victoria Vic-toria Lincoln for the nnual College Col-lege of Southern Utah Library Book Review Tea to be held at the Library Lounge Thursday, April 16 at 8 p. m., it was announced an-nounced today by Librarian A. T. Challis. "Charles" Is the only recent publication on the intimate life of Dickens. Miss Lincoln was in the hospital for three years with a severe ear infection. During this time when she could not hear, she read everything that Dickens ever wrote and, in addition, ad-dition, read Johnson's "Life of Dickens", from which she has chosen the incidents included in her book. At the end of the three years, she had 40 pounds of manuscript man-uscript and could boast that she is the most informed person on Dickens in the world. Mrs. Amend, well-known in the community for her ability at reviewing re-viewing books, describes "Charles" as an entertaining and very readable book that makes one feel intimately acquainted with Charles Dickens. |
