Show 00 Surplus Products In Small Gardens Saves City Money SAN FRANCISCO, Dec. 5 Surplus products, valued at ?S7,200 which were grown on small garden plots in Gila county, Ariz., were saved through tho cooperation of the home demonstration agent and the county agricultural agent, according to a report of tho United States department of agriculture agricul-ture received here. A cooperative marketing store was established near the gardens on the edge of town on the main-traveled road, said the report. A community I canning kitchen was also operated under the supervision of the home-demonstration home-demonstration agent, nos charge being I made to the cooperating gardeners I who wished to make use of it. This plan also presented an opportunity for teaching the most approved and economical eco-nomical methods of canning and drying. |
