Show CHRISTOBEL PANKHURST. Miss Christobel Pankhurst has beon active in the British militant suffrage movement more than ten yoars. She Is a loader in the Women's Social and Political Union and for two years was an exilo in France. Mrs. Frederick Pcthick Lawrenco first came Into prominenco in London In 1912 when she was arrested on a charge of conspiring to incite riots by suffragettes. Later Mrs. Lawrenco bocamo estranged from Mrs, Emmellne P.inkhurst and helped to organize a n'on-mlHtant suffrage movement in England. Mrs. Mary McArthur Is a president of tho National Federation of Women Workers. Since the war the organization organiza-tion of which she in the head joined tho British labor party and entered actively ac-tively into politips. The Countess Georginn Markiovicz, wife of a Russian artist and dramatist, living in Dublin, figured prominontly in tho Sinn Fejn uprising of Easier week in 1916, A few months previously previous-ly the police raided her house in London Lon-don and solved quantities of pro-German literature. In tho Dublin affair tho countess killed a guard during an attempt to capturo Dublin castle. She was sentenced to death but this was later commuted to lifo imprisonment. A few months later she whs released and welcomed by enthusiastic crowds in the Irish city. |
