Show BIRT B, BLACKM1 DIES AFTER LONG ILLNESS After an illness of several months, Birt Griffin Blackman, for years a well known business man of Ogden. died at his home. 2355 Jefferson avenue, ave-nue, at 2:15 o'clock Wednesday afternoon. after-noon. Mr. Blackman was born at Marshall -town, Iowa, in 1S5S, and came to this city in JSS4 whore he became identified identi-fied in fraternal and business circles, j' He is survived by his wife and five 1 children. His son W. IT. Blackman, who has been in training at Camp Vail, N. J., was discharged from service serv-ice Wednesday and will arrive home for tho funeral as soon as possible The decedent was a trustee of tho Carnegie library here, vice president of I he Plngreo National bank and president of the Blackman & Griffin j company. Mr. Blackman held high po-I po-I sltions in Masonry and was past mas-j mas-j ter of Weber lodge No. 6, Free and (Accepted Masons: past high priest of ! Ogden chapter "No. 2 Royal Arch Ma-Isons; Ma-Isons; past commander of EI Monte 1 Commandery No. 2, KnlghLs Templar, I all of Ogden, and past grand high ! priest of the grand chapter of Royal Arch Masons of the state of Utah, and was a member of the Order of High Priesthood of Utah Masons, the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Free Masonry, thirty-second degree; de-gree; El Kalsh Temple of tho Mystic Shrine, and Queen Esther chapter No. 4, Order of the Eastern Star. oo |
