Show Cat Tracks , WX Band continues 'streak5 By SARA WILSON At Woods Cross, school starts as a new beginning for most organizations, organiza-tions, but for the Wildcat marching band, a successful season is already under way. Official marching mar-ching band practices began in June with thousands of hours collectively collective-ly being donated towards learning, rehearsing and perfecting the field show for the season to come. Over 150 students give up the freedom of summer to experience the thrill of victory and the sense of pride and accomplishment that comes out of hard work. Wildcat advisors and band members know that there is no such thing as a poor commitment to success, this is what makes the Woods Cross Marching Mar-ching Band consistantly number one. This summer, the marching band was excuslively invited to participate partici-pate in the Klondike Festival, Edmonton, Canada. Under the direction of Steve Richens, advisor, advi-sor, and Trent Thomas, drum major, ma-jor, the band left on July 14 to participate parti-cipate in the international festivities. festivi-ties. The band returned on July 23 with a complete set of trophies. Wildcats won first place overall, first place in the parade, and second by half a point in the field show division, not to mention the many awards won within individual indi-vidual sections. Over all the Woods Cross marching band did a fantastic job and is looking forward to the most successful season ever.
