Show Henley cited top employee Jean A. Henley, PBX operator, has been named "Employee of the Year" at Bountiful's Lakeview Hospital. She is the recipient of the 1986 Dr. Thomas F. Frist Humanitarian Humani-tarian Award at the hospital. The Dr. Frist Award is given annually to that employee whose dedication and concern help build a better hospital and a better community. com-munity. Mrs. Henley is the wife of Richard T. Henley of Centerville. She was raised in Denver, and graduated gra-duated from high school in Johnstown, John-stown, Pa. Upon returning to Denver, following World War II, she married Mr. Henley. For the past ten years Mrs. Henley Hen-ley has worked as a PBX operator and night receptionist at Lakeview Hospital. For two years prior to the opening of Lakeview, she worked in the admitting office at the old South Davis Hospital. When Mrs. Henley first moved to Utah 19 years ago, she worked at St. Mark's Hospital, where she was a PBX operator for nine years. Pre- Contlnued on page two Employee honored Continued from page one viously, she worked for many years as a bookkeeper for Blue Cross-Blue Shield in Cheyenne, Wyo. Mrs. Henley was a volunteer for the Girl Scouts of America for many years. She is active in her religious activities and supports the YWCA's Women's Crisis Center. Cen-ter. She enjoys sewing, and making quilts and nightwear for the center and also for St. Anne's Rescue Mission in Ogden. As the hospital's Employee of the Year, Mrs. Henley is being nominated for divisional and national na-tional honors in the Dr. Frist Humanitarian Award-Employee Recognition Program, sponsored by Hospital Corporation of America Amer-ica (HCA). Her nomination will be considered by HCA in Nashville, Tenn. During the presentation of the hospital's award, Administrator Lindel L. Carriger said he was pleased with the employee participation partici-pation in the nomination process. Mrs. Henley was obviously overwhelmed by the presentation. She made the comment, "There are so many other people who deserve de-serve this award more than I." Mr. Carriger said, "Lakeview Hospital is fortunate to have a person per-son of Jean's caliber as an example of the spirit and intent of the Dr. Frist Humanitarian Award." The Henleys have four daughters daugh-ters and two grandchildren. |
