Show Local kickers heading for Regional test The '69 Cougars have won the state championship in the U 19 age bracket and will represent Utah at the Far West Regionals to be held in Albuquerque, New Mexico June 11-14. The Cougars have participated in tournaments throughout the In-termountain In-termountain area and have amassed amas-sed an impressive collection of trophies. Many of the Cougars were chosen this past year for the state youth select team and two of the members also participated on the Senior Select Team. Two years ago the Cougars represented rep-resented Utah in the U16 age bracket at the Far West Regionals and progressed as far as the semifinals, semi-finals, a first for Utah in that age bracket. The Far West Regionals is the tournament held for the state champions of all 14 western states, including Hawaii and Alaska. The tournament is for boys and girls age brackets U12 through U19 and the winners of those age brackets adv- ance to the national tournament. The Cougars are affiliated with South Davis Soccer Assn. South Davis has approximately 3200 youth participating in a fall and spring season and is well represented repre-sented by a good number of teams who participate in tournaments throughout the Intermountain area. u--kifl i i wLUi . The '69 Cougars from South Davis Soccer Association have earned the right to compete in the Far West Regionals in Albuquerque this June. Team members have amassed a number of trophies and titles in the past. South Davis Soccer Assn. will be holding its annual General Meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 18 at 7 p.m. in the Viewmont cafeteria. All members are invited to attend this important meeting to elect new officers, vote on rule changes and conduct additional business of the Association. Offices open for election elec-tion this year are vice president, director of recreation and director of referees. Anyone wishing to submit rule changes and-or nominations nomi-nations are asked to do so by Feb. 15. to P O Rm |
