Show February is the month to apply for permits Hunters have the entire month of February to apply for once-in-a-lifetime moose, desert bighorn sheep, Rocky Mountain goat and buffalo permits. Permit applications applica-tions are available at all Division of Wildlife Resources offices. Applications Appli-cations are accepted by mail only and must be received by 5 p.m. on February 28. With the exception of the resident resi-dent moose permits for $102 and the Antelope Island buffalo permits, per-mits, once-in-a-lifetime permit fees are $202 for residents, $1002 for nonresidents. Over 100 resident and 12 nonresident nonre-sident moose permits are available on eight hunting units in northern Utah. Bighorn sheep hopefuls will draw for 10 resident permits and one nonresident permit on four hunting units in the southeastern corner of the state. Four resident permits have been authorized for Rocky Mountain goats in the Lone Peak Wilderness Area. The Board allotted 50 resident and five nonresident nonre-sident buffalo permits for the Henry Hen-ry Mountain. New this year is the Antelope Island buffalo hunt, to be administered adminis-tered by the Division of Parks and Recreation. Thirteen resident and two nonresident permits are available avail-able for this unique hunt on Antelope Ante-lope Island in the Great Salt Lake. Permit fees for the hunt are $802 for residents, $1062 for nonresidents. |
