Show IB raves' JELsLve By GEOFFREY HASLAM I would first like to remind all AP English students that Mrs. Parker has planned a pillow party for all of us lucky "kids." We will be watching watch-ing "A Van for All Reasons"- or something like that. Not only is this Thursday of Thursdays Abraham Lincoln's birthday, it is also the date when our glowing girls take on Davis in a night of sporting action. Speaking of Davis, I now unofficially proclaim proc-laim January 30th - John "Bender" Cahoun day for Johnny's efforts against the Darts a few weeks ago. Our state-bound, muscle-bound, Brave-men will be journeying over one mile to play the Wildcats of Woods Cross on Friday at 7:30. It's always good to see my friends from Woods Cross like: Rich, Sherl, Trent, Sean, Sarah, Telenah, Jill, Marc, Mel, Sherri, etc. Though we are rivals I think very highly of a lot of people over there. Several of our classmates are competing in the state swim meet f the state wrestling meet. This Si course is the culmination of a long season and a lot of hard work. It's a lot of fun and a prime chance to meet some woe-men if you are so inclined - needless to say, I'll be there. You've got to fight, for your right, to journey. ..to the Victory Stomp next week after the View- mont-Bountiful game. All of our friends from Viewmont, Woods Cross, Davis, etc. are encouraged ; to attend this one on the 20th. As the winter season moves closer and closer towards spring, so does our hockey team's season end. These checking chaps have provided hours of entertainment for BHS students, and for anyone I on the "mother earth" for that ' matter. And so to Judd, Dave, Jay, and Joe , and to all the rest for whom we l go, to see the scoring of points and I the checking of men, we say "great f job" and "thanks again." Finally I would like to dispel a l rumor. Matt announced that the j reason Scott Kendell missed some school last week was because he slipped in one of his weekly mud wrestling matches - not true. I was j with Scotty down in the weight room the night before and after putting put-ting up my usual 450 pound bench press I noticed Scott trying to match me. I warned him against it but he paid no heed and needless to say I had to lift the bar off of his chest (with one arm) a few seconds later. Though I probably saved his life, I feel at least partially responsible respon-sible for his tragedy. I am sorry for putting up 450 but Sid is getting up there and the competition between us is so intense that I practice as much as possible. -HAZ (Mr. Bench) Award winner By RICHARD EGAN Karen Criddle receives special recognition.
