Of widespread interest this week is the announcement of the engagement of Miss Glenda Rudy, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Czar Rudy of Roosevelt, to Markel Caldwell, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Lamar Caldwell of Vernal. Mrs. Bliss Eldredge and Mrs. Sylvia Oberhansley were hostesses hostess-es members of the American Legion Le-gion Auxiliary at the, Eldredge residence Wednesday evening Jan. 25. Fred C. Ferron, Vean A. Bair Roosevelt, and Harvey L. Riggle, Neola, represented Basin Lodge, No. 20 F.&A.M., at the annual communication of . the Grand Lodge of Utah, held Jan. 23-24 at the Masonic Temple in Salt Lake City. Eight new students from Duchesne Du-chesne county enrolled at Brig-ham Brig-ham Young University this quarter, quart-er, according to John E. Hayes, registrar. They are Acel Haslem, Kent Nelson, Merlyn Reynolds, Bob F. Benson, Miles Colton, David Da-vid Wilson, all of Roosevelt, and Milton T. Poulson of Duchesne. 10 YEARS AGO The first meeting of the Duchesne Du-chesne County school board was held at Duchesne Jan. 11 when the reorganization and appointments appoint-ments were made. Floyd E. Lamb of Myton was reappointed president presi-dent of the board; Edgar Holder vice-president; C. C. Mickelson, clerk, and R. S. Jordan, treasurer.
