Show PERC Offers Help To Mothers The Parent Education Resource Re-source Center of the Davis School District is offering to mothers of young children ages 2-5, a workshop dealing with survival skills for those early years when mother is so "on demand" for children's needs and wants. THE EMPHASIS for the four-week course will he to assist in preparing children for life's journey-giving them a good start. Topics to be discussed discus-sed are: 1 . Basic emotional and physical development, age groups, and normalcy; 2. disci-pline,--"how do you get them to do what you want them to do?" 3. Communication and self-esteem-"How to talk to your children and help them to like themselves"; and 4. Surviving Sur-viving as a mother-filling your own 'love bucket.' The workshop, entitled "Survival Skills for Mothers of Young Children (ages 2-5)" will be held Monday mornings beginning Oct. 17 and running through Nov. 14. Class will not be held on Halloween. Each session will begin at 10 a.m. and will run to about 11:30 a.m. All classes will be held at Hill Top School which is located lo-cated at 120 West 3000 North in Layton. THERE WILL be a $5 fee charged for the series. Child care will be provided for a limited li-mited number of children ages 2-5, for the mothers who register regis-ter early. This is a repeat of classes which were held last spring. Instructor for the workshop will be Loretta Endcrs who is the Parent Aide coordinator at the PERC Center. She has a bachelors degree in social work and child development from Brigham Young University, Univer-sity, and has taught parenting classes in various organiza tions. She is married and the mother of four children ranging rang-ing in age from 13-5. PRE-RKGIS TKATION is required as class size will be limited to 15 participants.
