Show Lagoon and Pioneer Village recently held its annual end-of-season employee banquet. The evening consisted of dinner, din-ner, slide show, employee skit and the presentation of scholarships. scho-larships. THIS scholarship program was started in the 1950's by Robert Freed and has been a tradition ever since. Each year, employees who excel in their departments and will be attending a college or university universi-ty in the fall are awarded the cash prize. This year saw the largest number of scholarships ever awarded. Each winner received re-ceived a $500 scholarship. The winners this season included: Kathryn Werrett, Whitney Young, Mike Barnes, Kevin Beireis, Olabode Folarin, Rhonda Riley, Debbie Rhoads, Karla Martin. Robb V-t Zweden, Lori Barton, Mike Rawlins, Catherine Hyde, Lauri Brown, Mike Huff. ALSO DONNA Garr, Becky Jo McKenzie, Marlene Golightly, Sue Draper, Betty Jo Evans, Cindy Lu Capener, Michelle Kelsey, Shelly Sanders, San-ders, Trevor Adrian, Paul Butler, But-ler, Mike Willhard and Mike McCill. A special Contribution Award was given to Dean H. Smith because of the tremendous tremen-dous work and responsibility he shouldered during the Hoods in the late spring.
