Show (DIbnitiinaiipnes Leonard Arthur Ryan Leonard Arthur "Shorty" Ryan died July 16 in Salt Lake. He was 76. He was born July 31, 1907 in Park City to Louis James and Cecilia Treveathen Ryan. He married Eleanor La Von Drussell on October 15, 1930 in Eureka, Utah. She died on October 17, 1965. He was a general mine superintendent of the North Lilly Mining Company and the Dragon Consolidated Mining Company. He was a member of the Eureka United Methodist Church, a member and Past Master of the Tintic Lodge No. 9, F&AM, and a Worthy Patron of the Tintic Chapter 18, Order of Eastern Star. Survivors include a son, Barton L. Ryan, Payson; daughters Mrs. Maury (Bonnie) Newman, Salt Lake, and Mrs. Thomas (Shanna) Kokal, Gillette, Wyoming; brother Louis J. Ryan and sister Mrs. Cecilia Gourley, both of Eureka; eight grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. The funeral is scheduled for Friday and burial will be in the Payson City Cemetery. Faye Cunnington Nuneviller Faye Lavon Cunnington Nuneviller died on July 10. She was 72. She was born December 31, 1911 in Park City to Jacob and Fannie Lee Cunnington. She married Edward R. Nuneviller on July 11, 1930 in Salt Lake. She is survived by her husband; daughter Mrs. Merle (Shirley) Kinyon, of Salt Lake; six grandchildren (Buck, Jerry, Von, Mickey, Shorl and Kim); and 11 great-grandchildren. Alma Frederick Durtschi Alma Frederick Durtschi, a former Park City miner, died July 12 in a Heber hospital. He was 79. He was born May 24, 1905 in Midway, Utah to Friedrich and Katherine Lugenbuhl Durtschi shortly after they arrived from Switzerland. He married Vivian Nisonger on June 27, 1928. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. She died July 17, 1948. He married Jane Peel on March 30, 1951 in the Manti LDS Temple. She died April 2, 1963. He married Maren Bondiek in the Salt Lake Temple on August 14, 1963. He served as Seventies Quorum President of the Midway Second Ward and as High Priest. He was owner and operator of one of the first service stations in Midway and was a general contractor for many years. He Invented or modified most of the machinery used in his business. Survivors include his wife, of Midway; sons A. Fenton (Golden, Colorado) and Gerald N. (Bountiful); siblings Walter, Mrs. Theo (Lucy) Daybell, Mrs. Martha Slaughter, all of Midway; Mrs. Otto (Frede) Baker (Salt Lake); eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by sons, Grant and Allan, and a sister, Alice Thurgood. Burial Monday was in the Midway Cemetary. Helen Marie Buck Helen Marie Buck died July 16 after a long battle with cancer. She was 52. She was born January 15, 1932 in Price to Albert and Bessie Leora Smith. She graduated from Park City High in 1950, and married David Thomas Buck in 1951. She worked at the Smith-Fauf Drug Company in Salt Lake, Tooele School Lunch, Larry's Merc. (Henefer), J.C. Penney and First Security Bank. An active LDS member, she served in Relief Society, Primary and Sunday School. She was past president of the Tooele West Elementary PTA. She was active in 4H and girls' softball. Survivors are her husband, Tooele; children and in-laws Jodie Ann and Brad Sargent (Hoytsville); Joel David and Bonnie Buck (Green River, Wyoming); Julie Marie and Kim Warner (Coalville); Albert Keith and fiancee Lisa Peterson, Leora Beth, and Daniel William (all Tooele) ; parents, of Wendover, Nevada; siblings and in-laws Betty J. and Earne Anderson (Sandy); T. Mason and Darleen Smith (Washugai, Washington) Linda and Sieg Bru (Dutch John, UtaH); Kathy and Leon Roberts (West Valley City); and seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Isabel. - In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Hospice of Tooele, co Tooelo County Health Department, 47 So. Main. |
