Show Count Basie Orchestra to play at Symphony Hall July 26 The Utah Symphony will host the Count Basie Orchestra in a one-night appearance at Symphony Hall at 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 26. The Count Basie Orchestra has toured with Ella Fitzgerald and Frank Sinatra, and in 1961 his orchestra was invited to play at the Inaugural Ball for president-elect John F. Kennedy. The County Basie Orchestra is the m first of a series of big bands the Utah Symphony will host this year. On Tuesday, Aug. 28, the All-New Artie Shaw Orchestra will give an 8 p.m. performance at Symphony Hall and on Wednesday, Nov. 28, Buddy Rich and his Band will give an 8 p.m. concert at the hall. Series tickets for all three concerts are priced at $15 and $20; single tickets for individual concerts are $10 and $7. Senior citizens and students may obtain a $2 off the single price.
