Show Holy Cross rents clinic from county The Summit County Commission on Tuesday signed an agreement' to lease the Coalville Clinic to Holy Cross Hospital for a year. The hospital will rent for $7,392 a year or $616 a month, said County Clerk Reed Pace. Commissioner Cliff Blonquist said the rate is higher than the fair market value in Coalville. The rent is equal to about $3 a square foot, he said, where local prices would come to perhaps $2.30 or $2.40 a square foot. Holy Cross will occupy two-thirds of the building, formerly the Coalville Hospital. The remainder is occupied by the county health department. The agreement comes shortly after the arrival of a new Holy Cross physician, Dr. Wain Allen, in Coalville. . The agreement is effective July 18, and runs to the same date next vear It Will ailtomatiraHy hp renewed, said Pace, unless notice is given by one of the parties 30 days before the lease expires. The contract does not stipulate staff in the hospital or the hours maintained, said Pace. Holy Cross w ill pay 25 percent of the utilities and building maintenance mainten-ance cost. The county will maintain fire insurance for the building, but both entities will pay for liability insurance. After discussion last month with Holy Cross representatives, a lease was drawn up and reviewed by the county attorney and the hospital firm. The lease was not on the commission agenda this week. Clerk Pace said this was because the commission had no discussion on the lease, but just received and approved it. Holy Cross has yet to sign the contract. |
