Show WAS SELLING HIS SUPPLY OF WHISKY A ' transient giving his name as Hnrry Wagner was arrested by Sheriff Sher-iff Wilson thl morning for selling liquor without a liceuso. It Is a case of illegal liquor selling that Is quite uncommon in this section of the country. Were such a thing done In a prohibition country, It would bo termed "bootlegging," but here It cannot be considered anything but "selling liquor without a license." The fellow was found disposing of whisky by the bottle. He also had a goodly supply of phoney Jewelry that ho wai endeavoring to soil. The officers are of the opinion that tbe man stole the whisky from some saloon or other liquor house, and, being be-ing more of a Shylock turn of mind than a drinker, was trying to convert it Into cash. The man denies that he stole the whisky. He states that he obUlned It honestly, but that he concluded he did not want to drink it. and was simply trying to get his money back by selling it He seems to think he has a legal right to dispose of It In that way. |
