Show CHARGES AGAINST SHERIFF. Newark, O.. July 11 Formal charges against Sheriff Dlcko of Lick-Ing Lick-Ing country for failure to stop the lynching or Detective Ethrliigton last Friday night were made today, the paper being shlgned by Common Pleas Jjdge Charles V. Seaward and others. These charges were immediately immedi-ately forwarded to Governor HArmon. Judge Seaward has Issued a centre for a special grand jury to ino6t next Monday to Investigate the lynching. "This city has been for years In the hands of law-breakers," said Judge Seward today, "and the high ofllela-s of the city and county openly connive at violations of law and have defied the courts. The tragedy of Friday night has aroused the city and the i law-abiding element Is determined to pee that the lynchers are punished. |
