Show RODE IN WHEELBARROW ON PRIZE FIGHT BET Bingham. July 10. The streets of Bingham were lined with a throng of laughing ypectntors th.s afternoon to witness the unique spectacle In which Arthur Thayer of the Combination snlcon wheeled Sam Byron, head carpenter car-penter at the Utah Copper mine. In a wheelbarrow fioux the postofllce to the Yampa smelter, a distance of about a mile, as the result of a bet on the Jeffries-Johnson lishl at Reno, in which Thayer lost Thayer wore the following placarded on his back: "Jeff lost and so did I." Accompanied Accompan-ied by a retinue of small boys, punctuated punc-tuated by witty sallies Irom the spectators, spec-tators, a lively Interest was kept nn from start to finish. The trip was made with apparent ease, thoush Byron By-ron is ouite a heay man. Thaypr finally landed him ut the smelter, where he was Instil v cheered by the crowd. Byron pronounced the ride one of the best he ever enjoyed; thai he had an automobile "skinned a mile" |
