Show RAILROAD IN ON AN OUTING This is tho time of year that the hard-worked man of business affairs hits hlmsolf to the mountains for that recreation of which he Is so Justly de- . serving. In keoplng with this c;s;om. Charles Ware, first assistant general manager of the Union Pacific; W. M. ! Jeffen. superintendent of the Utah division; R. W. Mulica, local yard-master, yard-master, and W. K. Roth, district lore-man, lore-man, were the guests of Messrs. Ed-holm Ed-holm and Akin at their Z-Bar ranch for a few days last week. It Is needless need-less to say that every member of the crowd hugely enjoy c-l the hospitality of their hosts, but If there Is one that enjoyed the outing more than anv other, that gentleman was Mr. Ware. With rod and line he betook htmse.T to Bear river, and spying a com;orc- ! able rock in the middle of the strem, straddled it with the grace nnd ease , of an expert angler. Presently the speckled beauties spied the lua:loiis bait, and with an actlveness that would put Jeffries to shame.' Mr. Ware slipped into the river. This predicament predic-ament only lasted a moment, however, how-ever, and when the general manager reached the bank he had two me trout on his line a feat that even Uak Walton could not imitate. Tiring Tir-ing of this sport, the party returned to the ranch, where Mr. Ware donned "chaps" and demonstrated his agility in mastering the ever alert broncho Off in the distance and lingering In close companionship with the stars, Mr. Ware averred that he could distinguish dis-tinguish Halley's comet; but of cojse the "boys" knew that it was only an optical delusion, and that really the broncho was the cause of the illusion. The party returned to the city last Saturday and in the evening were the guests of Mr. Ware at a swell spread, served in his private car. Mr. Ware Is so Infatuated with the beauties of ' Bear river and the reception accordrd him. that he has signified his Intention Inten-tion of returning again his summer to go through the same good cheer Evanston News. |
