Show WORLD'S MARKETS Chicago Grain Chicago, Sept. 15, Evidence that yesterday's late depression in the wheat market was without adequate reason led today to a rally. The various vari-ous rumors which had disturbed holders hold-ers were found to have little or no basis and it was authoritatively an-1 nounced that no Argentine wheat bad been purchased to come to the United Unit-ed States. Confldenco on the pari of buyers, however, was far from being be-ing fully restored and support soonl gave out. Opening prices, which ranged from l-2c off to 1 3-8o up, with December at $1.49 to 1,49 7-8 and May at $1 49 to ls49 4-8, wore followed by a moderate general advance and then a decided reaction. Fulfillment of frost predictions carried car-ried corn upgrade. Liberal profit taking, tak-ing, though, ensued and the market eased off. After opening 5-8 to 1 3-8c higher, values receded to some extent but continued to show considerable strength. Oats paralleled tho action of corn. Trade was not heavy. Higher quotations on hogs gave strength to provisions. Lard led tho advance. Subsequently bearish sentiment became be-came more pronounced owing largely to the fact that recent purchases for the Greek government turned out to be only half as large as had been reported. re-ported. Drought advices from Argentina Argen-tina later though caused a rally and there wero signs of a better expert call. The close, was unsettled 1-4 to 1 1 4c net higher with December at 31.49 1-2 to 1.49 3-4 and May at $1.50. Forecasts of additional frosts tended tend-ed to bring about a new upturn in prices. The close was strong at 1 1-4 to 1 3-4c net advance. Chicago Livestock. Chicago, Sept. 15. Hogs Receipts 14,000; market strong, 10c above yesterday's yes-terday's average.
