Show SEALS LOSE TO HOWARDS OMS San Francisco, Sept. 14. Del Howard's How-ard's Oaks further added to the humiliation hu-miliation of the Seals on the Oakland grounds today, winning the game 4 to 3. Starting with a clean four-run lead, the Oaks dropped down hill in gradual style until they put the brakes on just In time to nose out of the game. All the closing glory was due to Captain Bill Kenworthy's strong arm. He made a wonderful pick up of Fitzgerald's Fitz-gerald's grounder nnd threw the Seal right fielder out at first, when a mis-cue" mis-cue" of any sort would have been extremely ex-tremely dangerous. Mai Barry followed this with another an-other hit of sensationalism in cutting cut-ting off Bill Speas in his prime and retiring San Francisco when the Seals . were figuring a tie score was coming-It coming-It was an all afternoon battle, devoid de-void of any other star work and made up of pitching that was tlresomely slow. Sixty-four minutes were consumed con-sumed in the first four Innings and the balance of the game was of the same irritating fashion. Free Baum of Blame. Spider Baum. on the mound for the Seals, while far from being in the form he has displayed in other starts, was not altogether to blame for tc Oaks' four tallies. He was hit hard, to be sure, but the inflelders were not on their beats and both Jones and Downs slipped on him seriously. Red Oldham, who replaced him on the firing line with three Innings gone, pitched good ball for the remainder re-mainder of the journey. Speed Martin was benched In the fourth and Ray Boyd, who supplanted him, slid through that inning safely, only to get into danger In the fifth and was replaced by Bill Burns, soon to shake his Onkland uniform. It was the unsteadiness of Boyd that brought the San Francisco delegation to within one run of an even score. In the fifth, three hits and a walk brought in two runs. In the eighth the Seals again threatened but effective fielding nipped nip-ped their chances in the bud. Score by nnlngs Oakland: Runs 022 000 004 Hits 122 010 1007 San Francisco: Runs ...
